WITHIN: Finding God Deep Inside
One
task of the spiritual life is to boldly assume the arduous but awesome
assignment of re-discovering our original ‘self.’ It’s all too easy to avoid that assignment, or put it off for another time, another day. It always seems that there are more important things to accomplish, more critical expectations to fulfill, more exciting adventures to undertake. Without an awareness of who we really are, however, all those important, critical, and exciting things become nothing more than disconnected events to fill a life. When we choose instead to enter the depth of our own being, we begin the thrilling quest of finding where our soul and God’s
presence meet. There is probably no higher goal in life, nor one
more exhilarating.
