Former Pastor of New Faith Baptist Church, Matteson, Illinois, which, under his leadership, grew from 57 members to 3,500, Dr. Thomas now serves the largest Disciples congregation in the United States. A strong believer in education and a teacher in the Master of Divinity, Doctor of Ministry, and Doctor of Preaching programs in several seminaries, Dr. Thomas is the author of They Like to Never Quit Praisin' God: The Role of Celebration in Preaching. He currently serves as Co-Executive Editor of The African American Pulpit.
