G. Lee Ramsey, Jr.

G. Lee Ramsey, Jr. is an ordained minister in the United Methodist Church and the Marlon and Sheila Foster Professor of Pastoral Theology and Homiletics at Memphis Theological Seminary.  A graduate of Candler School of Theology (M.Div) and Vanderbilt University (Ph.D), Lee has been teaching at Memphis Theological Seminary since 1998. His professional interests include the ways in which fiction and film illumine the practice of Christian ministry; the relationship between preaching and pastoral care; and pastoral care in times of grief and loss. Lee is married to Mary Leslie Dawson-Ramsey and they have two children, Shelley and Luke . When not in the classroom or congregation, he prefers to be caught reading novels and short stories or standing in a river fly-fishing for trout.
